About me
I was born into a Jewish family and grew up in East London. In my twenties I worked as a woodworker. A job teaching woodwork to people with mental health problems opened the door to me working therapeutically with people, and I decided to train as a counsellor.
I took my first steps towards training as a counsellor in my mid-thirties, and gained my diploma in my mid-forties. Along the way I have also studied philosophy and religion, and have an interest in the therapeutic value of literature and journal writing.

Training, Qualifications & Experience
I gained my diploma in therapeutic counselling in 2001 from the University of East London. In 2005 I was granted accreditation by BACP (the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). In 2017 I achieved BACP senior accreditation.
I trained in an integrative approach to counselling which enables me to tailor my approach to the needs of each client. My training has included existential and humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused and psychodynamic approaches. At the heart of my work is the person-centred approach, which recognizes the uniqueness and individuality of each person and makes you, the client, the expert in your own life.
